We all know Labor Day as the unofficial last weekend of Summer. It’s a long weekend to fit in some barbecues, swimming, and outdoor fun. But what really is Labor Day and when did it start?
According to History.com it started in the late 1800’s as a way to give a day off and revive the American workers who were putting in 12 hour work days, 7 days a week, during the Industrial Revolution. It was signed into law by President Grover Cleveland on June 28, 1894. So let’s take this weekend to raise a glass and salute the working men and women!
